I have a small tank 29 gallons. I need a really good skimmer for a decent price? I am looking for one that will get rid of a lot of waste from predators. I would like one that hangs off the back. I know that limits me. I really need a good one can anyone lend me their expertise?

How about a small one that sits inside instead of off the back? Check out a Tunze 9002.

I 2nd the Tunze 9002! I have a 29g and it's a workhorse for me...couldn't be happier. It doesn't take up too much in tank room and it's whisper quiet plus it really skims well. Do a search for my thread "Tunze DOC Rocks" on this forum and you can see in my pics the performance you can expect.

It's hard to find a good HOB skimmer, Deltec MCE600 is good but it's overprice IMO. If i were you i would order a JNS skimmer w/sendra 2500 nw from TW and it costs around $200.

Wow never seen this skimmer before, has anyone used it, and does anyone have pics. The only decent true hot skimmer i've seen is the bermuda and the typhoon is decent as well, but its not a bermuda. THis skimmer looks decent, although i'd liek to see some pics

I would agree about the MCE600 being overpriced, but not about it being good. Its among the worst skimmers I've ever had the displeasure of working with.

I loved my MCE600. Very energy efficient, sucks in alot of air and pulls alot of nog. Unfortunately there are alot of Deltec haters on this board who have little or no expereince with the skimmer. I used this skimmer for over a year before upgrading to a larger Deltec skimmer and it worked great. Lots of tiny bubbles, no ugly pump hanging in the tank, and using about 11 watts of power for energy consumption. You can't beat that.

I was wondering when we got to see the imfamous pics.

I should have taken a bunch of pics the mess all over my friends floor with the mop right next to it always ready to clean up the mess the thing made with its constant overflowing of the pathetically tiny poorly designed collection "cup". Also be sure not to tighten the cup screw down at all, that will also cause it to leak all over the place. There is a handy dandy overflow tube that does absolutely nothing. An incredibly poor design.
