I had good luck with Montipora species in a 20 long with two 65 watt pc's. All did excellent, kept their color, and had exceptional growth rates. I did have one A. milleopora that was purchased brown, and did indeed grow, but once it was put under halides it turned a lovely blue color. I use halides now. How many pcs (wattage wise) are you putting on how deep of a tank?

my sps grew under pc's but i never had anything close to the colors i get from halide, and my halide colors aren't spectacular.
I had over 400 watts on my 40 gallon tank and i didnt have great success, i'd use MH or t-5's, like i said i had growth just no color.

I had luck with bali green slimer almost at the waters surface under 96W PC in a 20L. It was yellow however, but it still grew fast.
