how do you know if your bta is healthy mine is realiy sucked inward it seems. heres some pics tell me if you think hes okay

It doesn't look too bad...what are your nitrates at?

Is that another anemone off to the right of it?

yes my Lta i dont know how he found his way up there hes settlled in thought and planted they are at .20

Hmmm unless your water params are out of whack, it seems you're feeding it and it's getting enough light. Does he eat the food or does he spit it out later?

yeah im about to switch too power compacts in the next two weeks, i have a real shallow tank two its only seventeen inches to sb.

Why would switch to PCs? Your only providing your tank with less light this way. Not to mention its actually cheaper to run T5s over PCs and you don't have to replace the bulbs as often like you do with PCs.

If you do have the HO (high output) T5s with individual reflectors than keep them for sure. They put out a lot of light if they were built by some of the good brands. PCs are inefficient in how they distribute their light and give off low PAR...which by the way is not good enough for a tank of 17 inches deep. ;)
