So I picked up a red bali seastar (Fromia milleporella) today. He acclimated fine and seems to be fairly happy. The LFS said he ate algae only, but I'm having trouble finding anything about its diet. Should I attempt to feed it a lump of mysis tommorow?

Omnivore, will eat both meat and vegetable matter. Small pieces of clam, shrimp, or any frozen food preparation can be placed under the starfish.

You can't find anything about their diet because nothing is known. They almost never take prepared food or algae, and best guesses are that they feed on organic films that build up on rocks and glass.
