Here are some pics of my 30g with two double strip aqualight Normal output T5's. I was disapointed when I first found out they were Normal output and thought I had been swindled by my LFS, but everything in my tank is growing great and lights are very slim. They were only $35 a piece at LfS. I think they would be great for anyone on a budget who just wants to keep easy corals. I have mushrooms, zoanthids, xenia, GSP, and lots of coralline. I have never posted a picture on here before so I hope this photo bucket link works, can someone put a link to a post where it tells you how to post pictures in the thread and not through photo bucket?

Very nice tank!
I too use NO lamps no T5s but regular T12s with a combination of VHOs. I override the bulbs with IceCaps ballast, works great.

To the right of your image on photobucket you will see a label like this: "IMG Code - Forums & Bulletin Boards" Just click the text box under that label and it will copy the code necessary for you.

Just paste that code into your message and it will look like this:

If you're running them on VHO ballasts, they pretty much are VHOs. The bulbs are essentially the same, just higher tolerance.

Yeah 2 IceCaps 660s the 40W runs at about 80W according to IceCap. I use 4 40W and 2 110W actinics.

these are straight out the box internal ballasts aqualight 30" normal output T5's. I have 3 10000k and 1 actinic bulbs. I think they would be great for someone on a low budget and someone with minimal space available

delsol650 did you construct those frag holders yourself?

Yeah, pretty easy.. their the type of soap holder with suction cups you can get either at target, walgreens ( $2.xx ).. they just get a dremel and cut some pieces off at your liesure... works really well with frags as there are holes on the bottom of it to allow for flow to go throught he bottom, back and all sides...
