i want a canopy that has 2 doors in front to open like a normal door,,, the back opened... the top will have my mh lights.. size is 72x18x14 (lxwxh).

do i use 2x4 wood as frame or just 3/4 inch wood ? i dont want it too heavy.. any plans or ideas u have?

I would build a frame using 1x4 lumber and 1/2" plywood faces. Seems to me that a 2x4 frame would add considerable weight, as would the use of 3/4" plywood.

I've got a fairly cheap canopy on my 125 that came with the tank when i got it. It's fairly light but cumbersome to move. Have you considered making the canopy out of two separate pieces that join together? That would making lifting the canopy off/on the tank a lot easier for one person to handle.
