I picked it up used for 20.00 with the skimmer, pump, and hood. My questions are

1. Should I just toss the skimmer? It uses an air stone and doesnt look like water would circulate through it well. Recomendations?

2. It has a 13w CF. What lights do you recommend? I would like to move some of the zoas, and stonies out of my main tank.

BTW, there will be no fish and I will be adding live rock from the main tank to cut down on cycling.

I would imagine you could get by without a skimmer if you keep up on water changes, especially on the fishless tank. Otherwise, you could try one of the smaller units like the aqua c remora or deltec mce300. If you want to keep SPS, you can't go wrong with a 70 watt MH if you get a fan or two running in the hood.

What are the dimensions of the tank?

12 x 12 x 12... The hood is about 4 inches tall. I saw a 36w PC fixture in a magazine today that will fit. That makes it 6w per gal. I dont have any PC light experince though and dont know how well that would sustain stonies. Wouldnt a 70w be a little much at over 11w per gallon? Plus the heat:eek1:
