If I mix it in sealed plastic bottles and the add it to my auto top off bin it becomes exposed to the air, The calcium carbonate crust then forms on the top of the kalk. After a while alot of this scum if left in the bottom of the container.

Will this affect the potency of the kalkwasser? (i assume yes)
Will adding vinager offset the losses as calcium carbonate as the solution will now be supersaturated?

I have no effective way of making my auto top-off container air tight and the kalk may sit in there for a couple of weeks ata atime as it is slowlt used to top off.

Thanks

The junk at the bottom is likely impurities or excessive lime as more than 2 tsp per gallons will not go into solution and should not be dosed in the tank. This does not deplete the potency of the limewater.

Just dump the junk out occasionally and you'll be good to go. :)

The crust at the top is calcium carbonate, mostly, and won't hurt anything, either.
