I have a small fuzzy dwarf i bought last week. He has been eating "ruby red" feeder goldfish in the store so that's what i feed him. I give him 2 or 3 per feeding every 2-3 days. Is this correct? How often and how much should i feed him? Is their anything better to feed?

FW feeder fish do not have the right nutritional value for any marine organism. so yes, you'll have to wean it off of the feeders. prolonged diet on just FW feeders will kill the lion prematurely via liver failure. look around and you may find SW feeders but the cheaper way to go would be to wean the fish on to frozen food.

the amount of one silverside every two days is about right. look at the lion's stomach to get an idea.

Marine fare is a must for proper nutritional value and longevity. I would try gut loaded glass shrimp or using a feeding stick to wean it to prepared foods. As a juvenile it should be fed a small amount every day; feed just enough to develop a small buldge in the abdomen area (or less, never more). As the fish begins to mature reduce the frequency of feedings to twice a week.
