how much is too much?? my tank is a 90g 24" tall and i have the orbit light fixture( 2 150w metal halides and 2 130w pc's 420nm and 460nm). i plan on all lps and softies. is this too much or am i ok.

Thats fine, id actually be kinda weary about putting light loving corals at the bottom of your tank due to the 150 watt not being able to penetrate that deep

ok, thanks. in your opinion what types do you think would do better on the bottom.

It all depends, im not big into LPS at the moment. But what I have found is that light lovers will survive but wont thrive at those depths with those lights. I run dual 250 watts over my tank and ive noticed my sps survive but dont thrive under those conditions. It really depends ont he species

right now i have a jbj 12g nano setup that had a 24w pc and my devils hand leather, gsp, zoo's orange monti cap, and frogspawn were doing fine. now i put a new hood on it that has 2 24w pcs and there seems to be no change. i also have a green bta in there and it seems to be running to get away from the light when ever i turn it on.
