How many of you have - besides a marine tank at home - a nano tank at your office?

those who do have, is it much more effort to maintain that tank too?

I had a 12g nanocube at my office for about 6 months it was coming along well and then I put in my 2 weeks. it really wasn't much of a hassle aside from my coworkers coming over to look at "nemo", and of course the stupid questions like, "hey can we put a piranha(sp?) in there.

I have had a 10 gal. nano at work for probably close to 5 years. Sometimes I think it gets more attention than the tank at home. I spend all day with it so it is under constant observation. I work in an engineering lab so it is pretty easy to find time to maintain it. I too get silly questions from co-workers.

10 gallon, 4 ft nano at work. Anytime I am on a conference call, tank gets attention.

I have a 10g nano on my desk...coworkers love it. Very easy to maintain.

I am always curious - is it not much more effort to maintain than a larger tank - with the water parameters fluctuating etc?

I am really keen on doing this but I am not sure where to start.

I keep a 54 corner in my office. I usually come in early or use my lunch to work on it. It's nice to look at when you are bored. Everyone else likes to come see it too. The questions could be a thread of their own.

nano's are easy. just gotta plan well ahead.

Nano stability requirements:
- good ATO
- halide well off water surface (reduce heat fluctuations)
- good surface aggrigation
- low bioload

yeah my 5gallon office nano tank also gets more attention than my home tank. maintenance is really easy on small tanks. i just bring in a gallon here and there from my mixing station at home, and top off with water from the drinking water cooler, so no, not too much extra effort.
i find having a tank in the office is very relaxing, and give you something to do during down times.
long weekends can be kind of tough sometimes. i use a automatic feeder and a ATO when im gone for very long.

heres a quick shot of the day it was setup, about a month or two ago.
