Most people will do between 10%-15% each week or 20-25% every other week.
I do 20% on my 55. It has 8 fish though. For now anyway.

I have a failsafe "water change indicator" in my tank.
Have noticed when my Kenya tree corals/colts get kind of "droopy" and won't fully expand, it is time to do a water change.
As soon as I do, they perk right up.
Happens about every 10 days +/- a day.
I do a 20% change in my 125 gal.
I attribute need due to high tank bioload, or some noxious toxins floating about.
Works for me.

I would stick to 10% weekly water changes, imo. ;)

And as far as your bioload goes, that depends on what kind of fish you have, their size and activity level.

I do 4% h2o change daily in my 400G reef with lots of SPS for 3 months now and it seems to be very stable now. I still cannot get NO3 to 0 (1% now) b/c I overfeed my Tangs and Regal Angel.
