I've started looking for a new tank and thinking about a 120. But which one would you guys get? the standard 120 aga which is 4x2x2 or the 125 which is 6x1.5x2?

Pros for the 120 is the width is a plus. Definitely helps in aquascaping. Can't think of any cons.
Pros for the 125 is the extra 2ft of length, which would be great for fish, but the 18 doesn't allow much for aquascaping, plus would require 3 lights instead of the 2 for the 120.

I seem to be stuck about this, hence the quesion, which tank would you think is ideal for an sps tank?

Any input appreciated.

I would definetely get a 120. This would allow me to get better aquascaping. Btw, I love the new Oceanic Tech series 120. check it out. http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1131476&highlight=oceanic+120

if you have room for a 6 foot tank and like the 24 inch width, can you go with a 180?

The more squarish you can get the better is my thoughts...Perfect cubed are the best looking tanks...

Both are nice tanks. IMO the 125 is easy to work in and as you said it is nice to watch the fish swim 6 feet. Also alows for some larger fish. The only downside to me is the extra light. I have seen many of both set-ups and they are both nice. I went with the six foot (125) then changed to the 6 foot 180. Love my wavebox in the 6 foot. In the end they are both nice but the 6 foot would cost more to run.
