i have some live rock, well dead now, that I took out of my tank a couple of months ago. Do i need to cure it again before i put it back in?

not if it's been dry for a few months. i'd just rinse it off really well, and then you'll have some nice base rock.

agree, if it's been dry you could add it. I'd do a little at a time to be on the safe side. JMO.

I'd cure it if it was mine. Just because it's dry doesn't mean he cleaned it after removing it the first time, it could have all sorts of decaying organic matter in it. And sure you could scrub it very well, but if any of that decay is down in the rock, good luck with all that. Just stick a piece or two in a bucket with an airstone and check the levels. If it's going to spike ammonia/nitrite you should know within a week I'd imagine.

If it's decent rock, it'd actually be hard to get all of the die-off out of it. Good rock is porous, and a lot of the life lies within.
