i set up a tank for my mother a while ago. its a fowlr 29g with a seaclone hob. this skimmer sucks and i know there are some mods i can do to it but which are the best ones to do? i searched and found to broad of info.i want to do the best mods possible and i dont want to break the skimmer. i have tools and i dont have a problem with diy but i really dont want to break the skimmer.

any links or advice welcome. i just want to get more then a tiny bit of skimmate over a week. this thing it terrible!

And your are right, Seaclone is just horrible, but you are only doing 29 gal so do not expect a ton of skimate anyway. You can only put about 6" of total fish length into a tank that size.

thanks for the links. she doesnt have alot of fish in there but for some reason she has some amm. and trite! i do water changes for her weekly, sometime biweely. i think she is feeding too much and i told her not to as often and i have done larger water changes. i just would think that if there is all this crap in the water the skimmer should be pulling out somethign! it really does a horrible job.

maybe i should remove the bio wheel too?
