View Full Version : Controller locks level sensor

I'm using a level sensor to control my top off and, to ensure I don't flood, I set the duration to 5 seconds. I'm finding that every couple of days the controller locks the socket on the powerbar. The sensor still works (I signal an alarm in low condition) but the pump isn't activated. If I manually override the socket its fine. I have to unlock the controller then every thing is fine again for a couple of days. What causes the system to lock?

The 5 second duration is way too low. I set mine at 120 seconds.
I dont know the size of your sump but if 5 works most of the time, then up it to 10 seconds and see if that stops the locking.

BTW the locking is caused because your level sensor goes low for longer than 5 seconds so the plug gets locked out to prevent any more water from entering. What you want to do is figure out what is the longest amount of continuos time your Ro normally turns on for and then add about 20% more onto that.
