I have an ornate wrasse that was being chased around by a arc eye hawkfish. One day after the lights come on the wrasse was missing. It was gone for 3 days; after the first day I didn't see him I put the arc eye in the fuge. Still nothing so I thought that maybe it jumped out the back of the tank or it died. 3 days later the wrasse came back out and seems like nothing happen. I was wondering does anybody know if the hibernate? Or has something like this happen to them before.

Sometimes they burrow to hide. They also burrow when they sleep. Fish dont hibernate.

I know it goes in the sand at night. But he didn't come out night or day for 3 days.

While a few fish do hibernate or estivate, lungfish come to mind, I think your fish just hid for three days. Think of hibernation and estivation as long term slowing of bodily functions to escape a harsh environment.
