What options are there in using one of the eheim pumps as a skimmer pump for an eventually crowded 125 (140 gallons total) sps tank. I have a Euro E5-3 on my 58 which works great but the loud Sedra has always bothered me. Planning for future tank and I've always loved how quiet my eheim 1262 return is, not to mention it's built like a tank. I'm considering the BM 200, heard they're pretty much silent, but a little nervous about ease of any repairs etc on an Italian pump--I think they're Italian. Anyhow, I know people have been starting to mod eheims & Euroreef uses them on their big recirculating skimmers but I was hoping to stay at the $550 or under range. What are some good matches between a skimmer body and an eheim pump I guess is my final question?

You want a skimmer with an 8" diameter body to use an Eheim NW. You can go to the ER website and take a look at the specs for the RC180 and RC250 to get some ideas.

Thanks guys. How do you like your BM sjm817-- is it quiet? I'll definitely check out those other skimmers Eagles and the 8" diameter is great info too.
