Want to know who has good light penetration PAR ratings to the bottom of your tank 30"+ and what your using for lighting..

Either HQI/DE or Mougle ??

I love the look of the geissmanns but reliability seems to be a large issue!

Hamilton is not as clean of look but funtional and mougle base.

Then another german company but ship in the states: Aqua Medic Ocean Light T5/MH HQI Combo Series, 72 inch 4 x 250MH + 4 x 39W T5

Or 2 current usa outer orbit 48" 250W HQI x2 w/ HQI/THO4x54W and moon lights.

I will not have a canopy over the tank so that is why no retro fits.

Thanks
Frank

by far if your going 250 the xm 250's are the highest par bulb on pfo ballasts (not 6500)they are the way to go with actinics. I started with 250/w hamiltons and just went up to 400/w radiums. 120x36x30 in lumenarcs. I didnt want to use actinics.

Sanjay site is helpful

The Phoneix 250 has a decent par value, nice and blue to. Nowhere close to a xm10k but no need for actinics.
