cheato

i just added cheato to my refugium to replace the cualerpa...its been about a week and the section that holds the cheato... has like almost a rusty orange color slim like some type of thin film on the glass is this normal i have a light on the cheato for like 16hrs

put a couple of jumbo snails in there and see if they eat it

Ive got a really dark orange lookin slime in my refug too.. it's been operational with chaeto for a little over a week as well. What the heck is this stuff?

I get the same thing . I just wipe it off the acrylic with a sponge .
