hey guys,

my powerhead spits out mini white bubbles every so often. i guess once every 5min or so. it has a filter on the bottom so that the anemone doesn't get sucked in. i tried cleaning this filter which was only a month old and doesn't seem to have an affect. it also seems to spit out white bubbles when it's move around.

is there an issue with this? maybe its on its way out or something?

What brand & model powerhead? Does it have a venturi?

both questions i'll have to find out the answer too.

i do know that it did not do this for the first few weeks i had the powerhead. during this time it was running w/out the filter on it.

maybe that'll help until i can get that info for yah

i couldn't find the model or brand on the powerhead itself. perhaps i need to scrap more algae off ;]

i emailed the previous owner and have yet to receive a reply.

anything else i should look for or check?

ps - whats a venturi?

A venturi allows air to mix in with the output flow of the powerhead. That would create a ton of bubbles which doesn't sound like your issue. If there are any bubbles in the tank most powerheads, like maxijets, will suck them up and spit them out. This is normal but annoying none the less. ;)
