ok i have a Currant Prime Chiller 1/10 HP on my 65 gal tank. its on constantly! it says the water temp is 80 when my other digital seprate thermomiter says its 78, but its reading it from the tank itself and the chiller is cerculated through the sump, .but the tank is constantly at 78 dagrees , but the chiller in never off , so i gues as the chiller cools the tank thinking its 80 the heater has to kick on once in a wile to make it warmer since the chiller thinks its 80 so it keeps cooling it ! what do i do its confusing, i know.

Current chiller should have plug for heater on back of the unit so it will control both

I agree, Unplug your heater and see if the chiller will cycle. If it doesnt see if the compressor is running and cooling. The compressor in the chiller may not cooling down the water if it is over heating and shutting down during its cooling cycle, or could be low on freon. What lights are you running? You should have about a 2 degree cool down temp on your controller.

Get yourself a good mercury thermomter to calibrate your temperature with. Also use a dual stage controller. And you might check the draw down on your 1/10 chiller. Maybe it's undersized...

ok my heater is connected tio a temrature controler. would i be able to plug the heater into the chiller and plug the chiller into the temrature controler. this way it all reads the same temp? would this work, or not.
