diatom outbreak.

My tank is about 3 months old now and i never had a diatom outbreak, but this week it has started, it's going crazy is there anything i can do to this make it go away it's covering up my coraline and everything in the tank? is all i can do is wait it out? or what?

Do you use RO/DI water or Tap? Diatoms are normal during the cycle but after that you shouldn't have problems. Diatoms are fed by excess silica usually brought in by the water source. Check the TDS of your source water and if it's not 0 then you've probably found the issue. ;)

yeah i beleve that is the problem, so if i chage my water source, how long would it take this to go away?

anyone? how long should it take if i start doing some major water changes with RO water?
