I've been battling red cyano in my 4yr established tank for a few weeks now. I figured it either came from switching from store bought distilled water to store bought 'RO' water.
I don't have a large bioload in it. 1 yellow watchman goby and 1 skunk clown. Several snails and hermit crabs.
Recently I did a 50% water change and went back to distilled. Doing weekly 20% water changes. I also tried the 3 day lights off technique I read from another thread. That worked pretty good, but the cyano came back to a lesser degree.
All the water tests came up OK, even the phosphate test.
I just got back from the fish store with more cleanup crew and Kent Marine Power-Phos. Would this be ok for a 20 gal? Has anyone had any luck with this? I'm running penguin 350 - so there is room to put a media bag.
