I believe I read or heard about putting peppermint shrimp in a refug. The idea is they will breed and produce food/babies. Is this good or bad idea. Would they eat my copepods?
What if anything should I add to it?

Any ideas would be great

No that is not a good idea. They will munch down any small life in there. If you keep them in the tank they can reproduce in there and feed the fish. A refugium is a place of safety, for pods, and growing macro algae. Having shrimp in there is defeating that purpose. They will hunt down the pods until they are down to nothing. I had a tank full of various pods and 2 fish. Once I added 2 Peps they slowly shrank in numbers. My fuge has sand, 5lbs of LR, and a ton of algae thats it.
