I received my anthias from live aquaria today. they are all settled into the tank and seem healthy. However I tried to feed them mysis shrimp and they didn't eat.
1) Is this normal?
2)should I try feeding them some other kind of food?
3)When should I start to panic?

I feed my anthias formula 2 flakes (along with the rest of the fish) on their first feeding and then frozen brine (switching to frozen mysis now) in the 2nd feeding. They are new, you should give them a little time yet. What kind of anthais are they? I also got my bartlett's from Live Aquaria (avatar picture). I had three but they were 3 males and one didn't make it.

Where do you get the sinking pellets?

Lyretails and bartlett will happily eat any brand of frozen mysis, squid...and any other meaty frozen food. Just give them a few days. Stick to frozen foods at first. Frankly, I don't like dry food as a staple for anthias.

I second that. It will probably take a few days to eat good. I go with brine shrimp in the am and mysis in the evening. The species you have are relatively hardy and should eat within a few days

Ok Ill just wait it out thank you. One thing I noticed about my barlett is that he spends his time on the glass looking at his reflection just swimming very rapidly up and down the tank. Will he eventually calm down like the rest of my fish?

On the brine shrimp do I buy the eggs and hatch them myself?

I always try to start mine off with spurilina gut loaded brine. Once they are taking that readily I move to mysids. Lately I have been using a mixture of 3 brands of mysids, arctic pods, brine, cyclopseze and sweetwater zooplankton. Once and awhile I'll mix in some spurilina flakes.

Divers Den fish for me have always started eating about an hour out of the bag but I have them in a QT tank until they eat what I usually feed.

I have 3 lyretail and they eat anything and everything that goes into the tank. My original shipment from live aquaria (received about 2 weeks ago) all died (something was wrong with them to start with, only last a day or two). My new ones though love life and food.

Mysis though, that's the best.

Yeah anthias are pigs and will eat all day very happily. Just give 'em some time to settle in.

My 3 lyretail are eating fine but my barlett is still not eating mysids. Should I try brine shrimp next? Do I have to hatch the eggs myself?
