how do i cool my 12g nano cube without a chiller?

Get a fan blowing across the water surface. It will bring the temp down a couple degrees. Watch your top off, you'll evap a bit more than normal. ;)

Put a fan in the back twards the sump area.

That IS the best way to cool your tank down. Float some ice in ziplock bags or something if it's that bad.

My 65g was running close to 85. I put a 10 inch table fan on a table about 6-8 feet away and have it running when the lights are on. It blows just on one end of the tank and the water temp has dropped to about 81. I was amazed and there is no additional evap of water. I didn't think it was possible.
