hello
I have had a bug explosion in my tank. The tank is a couple of weeks old. I am new to the hobby this is my first tank.
I know there are different types of bugs in reef tank but man they are everywhere!!! Is it normal for a new tank? Some are white some look tan and they are all different sizes
thanks for input

That's a good thing, they are pods and beneficial to a reef.

Pods are good. :)

This is called a 'bloom,' ie, when one-two species take off bigtime: it will diminish as your tank ages. They're not harmful---in fact, we do refugiums to try to make this happen---I have no sponges or filters on my tank, to make sure they can travel about nicely from tank to sump and up, and feed my fish.

Pods most likely, either amphipods or copepods. Both are beneficial. ;)

The bloom will probably subside soon. I had a ton of them after the tank finished cycling, but now I have a much lower population.
