View Full Version : Presure question
I just hooked up my rodi system and the pressure gauge is reading 26psi. I am on city water and I am pretty sure that it is higher than that. I bought a 25gpd unit. Will I have to buy a booster pump or is that an acceptable pressure?

The pressure gauge should read what your tap water pressure really is. I can think of 3 things to investigate:
1) The city pressure really is 26 psi - you'll certainly need a booster pump.
2) You have other pre-treatment equipment in the house, reducing the RO system pressure - investigate and remedy.
3) The RO system pressure gauge is malfunctioning. To verify, you can get a pressure gauge with a garden hose connection at the hardware store (ACE, I know for sure). See what the real pressure is at any of your outside faucets.
