I purchased 2 used Vortechs about 3 months ago that at the time where about 2 months old. It took me a while to install them in my tank. They have been running good for about 2 weeks or so, but now they are not sticking together (falling apart). The glass is 1/2" thick. When I go to put them back together the wet side part is spinning and about 1 hour latter comes off. I tried to clean all the parts and even let it stay out of the tank for couple days, but the problem didn't go away. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Thanks for your help.

Hello tomasz,
First off, what is the serial number on the bottom of the driver unit? Also, were the instructions provided with the transaction and are you setting the pumps up per the instructions: pin spacer set to the right setting (no bent pins), dry side gasket, etc?
You're probably missing some parts or its set up wrong. Let me know and we'll get you squared away.

I will get the serial number when I get home. The pumps were provided with all the manuals and I'm almost sure it set up correct. It worked perfect for two weeks and it started giving me problems. Thanks in advance for the help.

They were purchased on 03/01/07 from Premium Aquatics, if you want I can forward the invoice. Thanks Tom.

Hi Tomas-
Check to see that the dry side gasket is being used and that the pin spacer sticker behind the gasket is not bunched up. Also, make sure that the pin spacer is installed onto the motor at the correct setting (for 1/2" tanks) and that there are no bent pins.

All of those things are good. The 3 pins are straignt and the motor bottoms up on the seal.

Hi Tomasz,
At this point I suggest you send the pump in for servicing at:
Dave in Service
9-B S Gold Dr
Hamilton, NJ 08691
Please include a letter indicating what the problem is and be sure to package the pump with the dry and wet sides sufficiently separated such that they do not attach to each other during transit.
