After having watched over your Divers den section like a hawk, it is finally going to happen. I was able to get the Achillies tang on friday. My plan now is to put it in a 45gal to QT for a few weeks before transfering it to its 300gal domain. Any special advice that might help the process go smoother? thanks.

SuAsati,

Congratulations on your acquisition and determination! It sounds like you are very well prepared for your Achilles Tang. It is typical for Tangs not to eat immediately after being transported. If after a couple of days your Achilles Tang has not eaten, we recommend soaking the sheets of algae in Selcon and Garlic Xtreme. Although Tangs will eat meaty foods along with the other fish in the aquarium, it is important that they are offered plenty of marine based seaweed and algae. This will strengthen their immune system, reduce aggression and improve their overall health. Offer dried seaweed tied to a rock or use a veggie clip, and feed at least 3 times per week. Sea Veggies, Seaweed Salad and Ocean Nutrition are all ideal products and are very easy to use. Enjoy your new addition!
