Okay , Now I have had my live rock cured for 3 months. The purple
is starting to come in,but is there any way of speeding up this process?

Thanks,
Murph

I'm just curious, but why do you want to speed up the process?

There are many options, and probably more opinions on the subject out there, but I simply dose Kent Liquid Calcium, and that seems to help spread the coralline algae relatively fast. Unfortunately, the "good" algae doesn't grow as fast as the "bad" algae. Calcium in general, however, will benefit your snails and corals as well as the desirable algae.

regardless of what methods (2 part additives, limewater, ect) used, the best way to help it along is to keep your Calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium within accepted ranges. These are all utilized in some degree or other for the coralline growth (calcification). That and light.

I second the calcium, alk, and mag balance. That will determine how much coralline you see.

Keeping your alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium in balance is the best method. ;)
