My RO/DI filter is expired and I need to top up right away.

I can not find any bottled RO water only spring water for sale. A local health store sells RO water from a machine and when I tested I it reads at 13 TDS.

Is it safe to use the 14 TDS RO water for temporary top off till my new filters arrive in the mail? My tank is fish only.

Is there any bottled RO water available anywhere? No major grocery store sell it that I have found:eek1:

Thanks in advance!

14 ppm of TDS might or might not be a problem, depending on what's actually in the water. Most likely, the tank will be fine, but there's no way to know in advance.

wally-world sells it in 2.5G containers. Distilled can also be used, its just a little $$$. ;)

I thought that distilled water was just boiled water and is not suppose to be used.

If it is a safer approach I will go with the distilled. I just want to do what ever is safest regardless of cost.

Thanks for the advice guys!

Is your DI cartridge just expired? Is so why not just use RO water from your filter?

Distilled is likely safer than spring water.

distilled is the water vapor that is collected when water is boiled( the steam is 0-2tds depending on what it's collected in or comes in contact with before testng) that's why distilled is more expensive then ro/di, it's the energy to boil the water and they amount of water you get, it's like 1 to 2 and then there's still a polishing filter after that needs replaceing like any other filter in time.

Ok, in th case I will use the distilled water for a temporary fix.

The reason my ro/di filter died was because first my di needed to be repalced. The only di I could buy localy was a kent marine that did not fit in my di canister. I eneded up running it in a 4th ro canister with no 600 overflow and burnt out all of my filters with high water flow.

Thanks again everyone!

14 TDS is fine for top off.

Thats good because I did have to top off a little with the 14 tds ro water from that machine.

Otherwise I found a LGS that had distilled & ozonized water just now. It reads <10 tds on the label but when i tested it it was actually 0 tds :)

On the topic anyone know where I can find cheap ro/di filter even in bulk?

I used distilled on my nano for months with no ill side effects. I purchased it from Wal-Mart for $.60 a gallon and when measured the TDS were always 23-25ppt.
