This morning before the lights came on I was looking over my tank with a flashlight. I notice that on one of my acro frags, there was a gammarus shrimp that appeared to be pealing the flesh off of the frag. This frag is located close to the center of my tank so it was difficult to see what exactly was going on but the polyps were not extended and it did not seem pleased. Has anyone ever witnessed or heard anything like this?

I have plenty of gammarus both in my sump and the display tank. They are good eating for my fishes (if they happen to wander in the daytime or disturbed by me :D). I have not seen them bother any of my SPS. JME

How come I can only find info on FW ones? I have these in my tank and they seem to eat detrius. Fish eat them like candy.

Look for Gammaridean amphipods. You should pull up info on both marine and limnic species. Gammarus spp. contains species that are both limnic and marine.
