Venturi popping off easily

I received my new RS250 last night and started to put it all together. I noticed on the venturi it appears to have a glue like substance on the end that is to go into the pump. The venturi was not secure in the packaging and thought it may have been knocked off. It now seams to pop off the pump real easily. Don't think it should be glued for ease of clean but how can I keep it on the pump?

FWIW, ER is trying to NOT use this forum as a means for customer service. You may have better luck by placing a phone call.
