I am gettting ready to setup my GEO 612 Calcium Reactor. I am new to settign one up and am deciding on what regulator to purchase. I keep reading horror stories from some that use the "cheaper" regualtors. Can someone recommend a bullet proof regulator and needle valve combination? I would rather pay the price up front than have problems with it after a few months.

Has anyone tried the www.aquariumplants.com "best" regualtor?

Do I need a bubble counter built into the regualtor? The GEO has a built in bubble counter correct? Is having a bubble counter on the regualtor and reactor a problem? I know that regulators with bubble counters are mainly used for freshwater systems but I keep hearing good things about the aquariumplants regualtor which has a built in bubble counter. I am also considering the M3 deluxe from Marine Depot?? Any other good regualtors out there? Thanks in advance!

Get the aquarium plants best regulator. Nice warranty, made in US, easy to contact if a problem occurs, and no one has a complaint about it. Here is my post asking some questions on the regulator. It answers some of the questions you have.

I heard M3 was nice too but it has no backing. Someone broke their regulator and marine depot could not help them find replacement parts .

The Elos one seems like one of the best available but the price may be high.

Thanks for the links. So looks like I should use the GEO's bubble counter and just fill the bubble counter on the regualtor with RO/DI water. Cool.
