I let the back panel of my tank get covered with coraline algae and now I have decided that I do not like it there. I know I can scrape it off, but how do I removed the flakes as they fall off? Can I do a little at a time and will it eventually breakdown or will it end up clogging the equipment if I scrape it off? Any suggestions on how I can remove it safely. Thanks.

Just leave the stuff you scrape off. It won't do any damage to your equipment.

If there is enough of it, it "could" plug things up.

Just what I love--differing opinions:) I probably will not remove it all at once. Maybe a little before every weekly water change. Thanks.

Cristi,

I recently scraped my back clean of corraline. You'll like the look so much better. I did it over 2 weeks, before a water change each week. No problems.
