WOW!! It is harder than I thought to plump a sump. I have a Pan world 100px-x pump. It is nine feet below the tank. My HOB seem like it is not draining well. I made a Durso stand pipe. The stand pipe is made of 1 1/4" pvc...my plumbing is 3/4" pvc. My sump pump will drain my sump in a minute or two. Is my stand pipe too big?(1 1/4"). Tomorrow I am going to try and just used an open hole in the overflow box and see where that gets me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

John- your Lifereef overflow box only has one drain hole, right?

Yes, that is correct....you know, I should of checked to see if it was noisey to begin with....are the hob's generally noisey? If not, I won't worry about a standpipe.....

That single drain Lifereef overflow isn't designed to handle the GPH your Panworld is putting out @ 9ft. head.
Check into it.
You need a second drain.
The noise factor is another (less important) matter.

What would you suggest? I have a 't' off the return going back into my sump so that I don't restrict the pump any. Thanks for all the input Gary. I am new to the sump stuff.

I tried a Durso in a LR and it didn't work out well. There isn't enough room to do it well and it cut the flow way back. I also found that a Stockman restricts the flow quite a bit.

I’m using the Hofer Gurgle Buster on my HOB overflow. Not dead silent but it does not restrict the flow.

Ever thought of drilling it? It would probably be cheaper than upgrading your HOB overflow.

It sounds like your pump is pumping faster then your overflow can feed the sump. Two choices, put a valve on the return or switch out the pump to a smaller unit. Is your pump submercible or outside?
