I have seen Yellows at 1.5-2 inches, for like 14.99 at a LFS. They didn't have much coloration and were almost white. Good luck with your new addition.

i've seen them 1.5", the ones that are really small are the blue tangs that i have seen smaller than a quarter.

ya the yellow one is as small as the blue tangs i usually see. the one i got was a really nice yellow. the second one he had was a faded yellow and i passed on him lol. what should i feed him? usually i put flakes in for the smaller guys and a few times a week i feed frozen mysis..
LFS got some in some yellows about the size of a quarter. They had a dismal survival rate.

Keep some nori on a clip for it to munch on all day long. Vary the diet with frozen mysis, brine, plankton, prime reef, formula 1 or 2, cyclopeeze, etc. The more variety the better.

In the wild, yellow tangs start out about the size of your thumbnail plus fins and tail. They can't handle the shipping & holding process, though.
