Recommended depth of skimmer

I have the RS 80 what is the recommended depth of the skimmer for optimum performance? I am going to be building a stand for my skimmer in the sump and I only want to make it once

I would keep it a bit deeper. The pump is larger and the inlet sits higher. Sp I would keep it say 8" to 9" off the top of my head
