I recently have had a hair algea problem covering patches of rocks. My water parameters dont seem to be the problem. pH 8.3, Ammonia and Nitrites 0, Nitrates >10. RO/DI water is used for all top offs and changes. My suspicions are that the lights are way way to old, certain spectra are absent and they need changing. My question is should I go ahead and change my lights immediately, or should I attempt to manually and biologically reduce the load then change my lights. Any comments or other suggestions are greatly appreciated.
