I have a non-tempered 55 gallon that I'd like to drill, does anyone have a 1" bit and experience they'd like to share? I'm up in the NE heights. Thanks!

I'm about to drill a couple holes in a 20L that will be my new refugium. I'm using 38mm (= 1 1/2 in) diamond hole saws that I got on ebay to install 3/4" bulkheads. If you'd like you could come help me drill to at least see how it's done (or not done depending on how it turns out  ). Just send me a private message (http://reefcentral.com/forums/private.php?s=&action=newmessage&userid=58520).

I bought the two 38mm diamond hole saws from lau*** (http://stores.ebay.com/THK-Diamond-Tools) in Hong Kong for $13 (including shipping), but you could also order from saltydepot (http://stores.ebay.com/saltydepot) in Florida for pretty cheap. I'm sure there are others around that sell the cheap hole saws (read you can only drill a few holes before they crap out).

What size bulkheads are you putting in?

I've never drilled a tank before this either. :D

I'm putting in 1" bulkheads, they say they need a 1 3/4" hole though so that's what saw I bought. When are you planning on drilling yours?

Soon, maybe this weekend. Send me a PM if you want to help me. Or, if you have your hole saw, we could drill both tanks at the same time.
