View Full Version : Best placement of Vortech's on a 92 gal Corner Tank?

Any experience with the placement of Vortechs on corner tanks?

I purchased 2 for my 92 gallon corner. Obviously, this is alot of flow for a 92, so I intend to keep them at a low power level most or all of the time. However, because of the dimensions of corner tanks, I'm having a hard time figuring out the best place to put them. And the lights, and the rock, and the sump, etc.

Any thoughts?

I agree with gsmguy, the best part of corner tanks is that the flow is directed throughout the whole aquarium when positioned on the backwall. Once should be fine for this tank, although you may want two if you are keeping SPS.

Thanks guys. If I go with two, and put one on each back wall, should I position them at the same height from the sides and bottoms, so that the streams collide in the center of the tank?

Or might it be better to stagger them, perhaps one up high and another lower so some part of the streams flow under and above each other?

Thanks again.

stagger or collide both would have advantages i would try both see what you like

stagger and you get more laminar flow.

collide more random.
