I am planning a new 180RR. I am looking for something small to put/point behind the rock work to give an occasional pulse to prevent dead spots. Do you thing these would be good for that in a 180RR? Thanks again for your help.

If you have rock very densely packed in the aquarium then yes it might be a good idea as a supplement to the larger pumps. If not then the larger pumps would be better...you will use fewer of them and it will cost you less.
