I have the 250 on my 180 and I'm very happy with it. It's been running for about 6 months with 0 problems and is very quiet.

I have the 250 as well and I am more then happy. From what I understand some of the bm200 owners had some problems with the early models, but I think they have been worked out now.

BM200 is an excellent skimmer for any tank at least 90g up to 200g heavy bioload. If lighter bioload, up to 250g. Many owners did have problems with generation 1 and 2, skimming too wet, but not everyone had that problem. With generation 3, the excessive skimming was corrected and some owners couldn't skim wet even if they wanted to as the new modifications lowered the bubble breaking level too low within the skimmer chamber. But the plus side was, the new mesh diameter ran full 44m instead of the trim down 41mm, which means it was now taking advantage of the full power behind the Sicce pump. But with the bubble breaking too low, a simple add-on gate valve to adjust the bubble breaking level up or down took care of that challenge. I personally feel that from what I've seen and I've owned a BM200, the latest generation 3 is the best version available to date.

from everything i have heard they are awesome skimmers...just wish the price tag wasnt so high!! I have seen the BM200 compared to the Deltec AP701 with similar performance within the high end skimmers. $549 is less than 1/2 of $1,133.
