skimmer placement in sump?

Is there a favorite placement for an in sump skimmer, before or after the fuge portion? I am finally started on building the sump still not sure about where to place it

Depends on size of sump. Ideally part of your drain goes directly to fuge and the rest to the skimmer. Or skimmer then fuge then return. Lots of different ways here.

This is the way I ended up making mine. I wanted to be able to seperate the skimmer with the fuge to be able to get a nice slow flow through it. Hope it helps.
