Hello 120reeferman,
There will be significantly more information about this very soon. In the mean time we are taking a vow of silence. What I can say is that there is no reason not to buy a pump now and upgrade later if you need a pump. The process will be utterly painless.

ok, so the upgrade isnt ready? i was goin to buy the 2nd one anyhow, but i wanted to know about the upgrade process and how it was going to work out.
it was my understanding that the upgrade was somthin that was going on now.

ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE!!!
There weas a change in business arrangements but Icecap still to this day and well into the future will be supporting EcoTech and the VorTech pump. Icecap will continue to do all the maintenance on the pumps, provide technical assistance, and provide parts.

poor ecotech, you try to step out on your own and gain some marketshare/recognition and people start rumors that your parent company has pushed you to the wayside

Nope, not true at all. Our relationship is exactly the same as far as our customers are concerned. IceCap and EcoTech will continue to work together to provide paramount customer support, and IceCap will continue to sell their battery backup accessory for our VorTech product.
GSMguy had it right: we try and grow our company and people start throwing rumors around. Typical.

This guy may be the culprit:
Quoting from the original post: "the cost of oceans motions units are cheap for what they do.a comparable unit from spears (actuated ball valve) cost about $900,no plumbing included.if you like the idea of multiple powerheads in a tank or a clean look with a closed loop the choice is yours, fyi vortech units have been droped by ice cap as theres been too many problems with them.

I bought two at the beginning of June thinking there would be a controller by the end of july or august. Today I had one die!!! Now I am starting to wish I would have just bought Tunze Streams and their controller. I am annoyed with this "just wait" answer that we keep getting. Sorry just venting. Finding one of my 350 dollar 2 month old Vortech dead today has just ruined my day. AHHHHHH!

Check for a solid green light on the power supply. It is the so called "black - brick". If it has no solid green light then that is the problem. If it does have a green light then the driver is the problem.
Let me know what you find and send an e-mail to ecotechmarineservice@gmail.com or service@icecapinc.com. We will get you back up and running.

There is a light on the power supply and it functions with my other Vortech. The vortech itself is dead. I have already sent emails to both Icecap and Ecotech. I really need this fixed fast as these are the only flow in the display, and I do not have any other powerheads laying around.
