silicone bonds to glass but not well to acrylic. unless you will have a ton of pressure silicone will hold acrylic baffles with no problems

I used silicone to bond my acrylic baffles to my glass sump. I just used a lot of it because I dont care what it looks like. With pretty much equal pressure on both sides it holds up great.

do you use a syringe or a brush to apply weld-on 810?

you can get it two ways, in a 2 part mix that you manually mix and then it can be applied with with a brush, a popsicle stick or put into a syringe and applied, or it also comes in a tube for dispensing through a mixing nozzle, you pull the trigger and it pushes the two parts through the nozzle and mixes it before it comes out the other end, works like a caulking gun but allot smaller.

i don't have a tube of 810 handy so it's Hysol 9462 but the 810 tube looks the same and works the same way, you can see in the one nozzle how it's designed to force mix the two parts as they are forced out of the tube and down the nozzle. the green one works the same way it's just more compact for a smaller bead and getting into tighter spots. you can get the nozzles in lengths from 3-12 inches.

I contacted Weld-On and their rep specifically told me they do not make a product that bonds to glass. I would be very suspect in using any Weld-On products to bond glass, its bound to fail at some point, given that the company doesnt endorse its use.

for the people who have used it....how well has it been holding up?

holds as good as an acrylic to acrylic bond. the old tubes had a list of several things that it would bond and glass was on the list, they've swapped the labeling on about 90% of their products to a CPVC/PVC and others materials but i can't tell a difference, looks, smells and works the same as the old tubes. i don't know why they'd say they don't endorse it for glass, they used to advertise it for glass repairs. I've used it countless times on glass shower door accessories and haven't had one fall off yet.

I would just use silicon. As long as you put a nice bead on either side of the acrylic baffle its not going to move anywhere. The silicon bonds great to glass and the bead acts as a wall to prevent the baffle from moving.

I used the hot glue gun + glue sticks from HD, it hold strong, no waiting to cure. It hold egg crate to glass, acrylic to glass and lot of others. that my .2c

where do you recommend I buy a tube of 810 and the applicator from?

i get mine from Regal Plastic, they have several locations, check their website for one closest to you and give them a call. the #810 in the dispensing tube is called #811, they are one and the same, just the #811 is in the dispensing gun tubes and the #810 is a two can mix it yourself setup.
