Help me catch a pesky crab

I found a few molts lately from what I would consider a pesky crab because of the pointy claws I seen. My only problem is that I don't know where it is living. Now I am finding remains of hermit crabs so what should I do? I know about the glass trick but I don't know what type of food to put in it. Any suggestions appreciated very much.

Set a small glass bowl next to a piece of live rock upon which the crab can climb and get into the bowl. I used clam bits (canned) as bait. The crab can crawl into the bowl, but it won't be able to crawl up the glass sides to get out.

Take a 20 0z. soda bottle and cut it around the top of the label. put clam or fish bits in the bottle turn the top half around and push it in the bottom half and set it at location of the crab and he can climb in but wont be able to get out !! if hes bigger than the opening of the coke bottle use 20 oz. juice bottle.
