Acrylic sheet price went up ?

I hope this question posted on the right place.
Last year, most local stores sold a sq ft of 1/4" thick clear acrylic sheet for $4.50 average. Yesterday I stopped by to get some and surprised by the price of $7.30.
Was the manufacture or the local store increase the price ?

acrylic is manufactured from an oil refinery byproduct (propylene). when gas prices go up so does the price of everything remotely associated with it. it's also costing allot more to get from the MFG to the distributors due to fuel costs.
